If you are planning or trying to get pregnant, you should speak with your primary provider about recommendations for optimizing your success and the health of your child.


Over the counter pregnancy tests are quite accurate. If you think you may be pregnant, make an appointment for testing and further discussion about next steps as appropriate to your needs. Early involvement in medical care usually makes the process easier, whether or not you plan to keep the pregnancy.


Management of a pregnancy is beyond the scope of this document. Early prenatal care improves the likelihood of a successful pregnancy and healthy birth. Establish care with a qualified provider and follow their guidance carefully.
